How to Live in Beauty…Right Where You Are

I just finished an amazing online course.

The Cozy Minimalist

I have a growing passion for interior design–simply because I want to live in a space that inspires me everyday. I have a feeling you’re probably the same 🙂

But even though I think I have decent intuition for how to put a room together, the truth of the matter is that it’s just that…intuition. And I was ecstatic when McQuillin Smith released her Cozy Minimalist course–that actually teaches the process/guidelines of home design. How to put any room together from top to bottom.

Unwrapping the cute title of the course…

Cozy= The feeling you want in your home
Minimalist= With the least amount of stuff 🙂

I’ve always been a lover of processes. Something that I can repeat over and over again with great results. This course delivers that in an amazing way! It absolutely thrilled me to watch the lessons and suddenly have all the mystery and angst disappear on how to approach a room. I knew exactly what to do and in what order. I felt so empowered and EXCITED! I can do this! And it’s going to be So. Much. Fun!

The price of the course is pretty much a steal. Regularly $39, but if you use my link you can get it for $29 when it takes you to the check out page (Be sure to put my name in as your referral!). It’s the best money you’ll ever spend on your house, because it will save you from buying anything you don’t need and teach you the foundation of what makes a room look put together (which surprise surprise, isn’t what you might think it is.)

I’ve already mentioned McQuillin’s best seller book several times on my site. I LOVE IT. I love her! I love her message that “It doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful”. And what better person to tout that message, spending most of her married life moving from rental to rental. Whether you are renting, living in a dorm, in a builder grade house, or a mansion, you’ll love this course and use every tiny last bit of it.

Happy Decorating!

My Favorite Interior Design Resources

“How can you claim to have a passionate interest in something, and then make no effort to properly understand it?” ― Simon Cheshire I’ve always had an interest in interior design, but it wasn’t until I started designing and building our new home that I began a gallant effort to learn the principles for myself.Continue Reading

Simple Pleasure: Hair Ribbons

image by seda arslan One of my new favorite Simple Luxuries is ribbon. Minutes for personal pampering are scarce around these parts and most days my hair is pulled back in a bun or pony tail. Quickly adding a ribbon to cover my hair band adds the most lovely detail of polish and makes meContinue Reading

Why You Need Luxury

“The Universe is not stingy. We are. Some of us have very stingy souls. Perhaps not in how we treat others–our family, friends, and those less fortunate–but in how we treat ourselves. Yet how can Spirit give more to us if our fists, hearts, and minds are clenched tight?”-Sarah Ban Breathnach I’ve been ultra stingyContinue Reading

Keeping a Sense of Wonder

This kid wears me out, tries my patience, and makes each day a little on the crazy side. But you won’t find anyone more passionate about life or more enthusiastic for the smallest of things. He’s a walking reminder to me of how I should be seeing life.   How I should be living.Continue Reading

Ten Things That Bought Me Happiness!

Sometimes I suffer from “frugality sickness”… you know, the moments where you just can’t quite bring yourself to spend money on something because a) You can surely do it yourself for free b) You’re just not quite sure its goingContinue Reading
