Weeks Top Review

Just trying out a new idea…

My Favorite Posts of the Week!  They are extremely varied!

I hope you find them as useful as I did!

1.  How to Use Photoshop to Get Your Blog Images Ready- FAST!

(includes a fantastically cool and valuable action that I’ve now tweaked into my personal workflow with great anticipation and excitement!)

2.  The Wrong time at the Right Place

Chances are you have seen Mr. Smiths work before.  It is absolutely classic and breathtaking.  He also proves to be an entertaining and thought provoking writer.  I love how he says,

“For most photographers, placing someone in front of something whether an icon or simply some exterior, unconsidered location is their idea of a portrait etc. This is not mine. The purpose of this picture, and many other of my images, is to know how to fit people into their environment, rather than haphazardly placing them in front of it. Having the figures within the space rather than in front of it, makes all the difference.

3. Where do ideas come from?

anything from Seth is a gem, but I particularly loved this one.

4.  Jonathon Canlas formspring response to “where are the good locations to shoot in SLC?”

He doesn’t mince words :)  But the core of his message is really really good for photographers!

5. Choosing Images to Deliver to Wedding Photography Clients

I don’t shoot weddings anymore, but this is a great post on the art of being selective in what you present to your clients.

Brooke Snow is a Lifestyle photographer in Cache Valley, Utah. She gets to go out on a real date tonight.  Like the type of date that involves leaving your house and getting a babysitter!  Maybe even dinner!  She’s excited to see Voice Male in concert tonight… it reminds her of her own a cappella singing days. Oh the memories.  Hooray for altos.  The end.

Brooke teaches private photography lessons , online photography classes, as well as monthly photography classes in Logan, Utah.
